- Educated by Nature provides learning experiences in a variety of natural spaces across Perth, to facilitate connection to self, nature and community. They run a number of programs like this bush inventors club for 6 – 12 year olds.
- Nature connection mentor and cofounder of Educated by Nature Trudi Bennett, is here to share more of the great work he is doing.
- Through being in, and exploring nature, people also discover many gifts and challenges of their own. Nature playworkers at our programs mentor children through learning skills, solving problems and in being a respectful community.
- Part of their mission is to build resilience in young people. Resilience is knowing that we have the skills and capacity to bounce back from our problems.
- In being able to use a saw, light a campfire or climb a tree children learn what it takes to be brave, assess dangers and hazards, face fear and to be persistent. If things do not work the first time, nature and community provides natural motivators to try again.
- Over the last few decades, Australians have been spending less time outdoors. they are part of a global nature connection movement which recognises that the health of the natural environment depends on human connection within nature and our love for local ecosystems.
